Grape Plants are planted on a vine frame in farmland and used to grow red and green grapes depending on the variant of the plant.
Obtaining
Section titled “Obtaining”Breaking & Harvesting
Section titled “Breaking & Harvesting”Fully grown grape crops yield 1-9 grapes (4 ½ grapes per crop harvested on average). Grape yield can be increased using a tool enchanted with Fortune, with Fortune III the average increases to ~6 ½ grapes per crop.
The first grape always drops, and then eight more attempts are made to drop a grape with a success rate of 57.14286% to yield the extra 0-8 drops. Each level of Fortune enchantment increases the number of attempts by one.

Farming
Section titled “Farming”When farmed, grapes go through 8 stages of growth on the bottom and 4 on the top. (Starting at index 0 for both, bottom ages until 6, then top jumps to 3 and ages until 8, once at 7 the bottom also gets set to 7 and is ready for harvest). However, there are only 8 total visual stages, with 1-7 being the same for both red and green grapes, and Stage 8 (index 7 for both) is where we see the color difference.
Grapes require a light level of 8 or greater to plant and 9 or greater to grow. Crops grow faster if the farmland they are planted on is hydrated. Using bone meal on crops also increases the speed of growth by randomly increasing the growth stage 2-5 between the top and bottom.
Crops break if pushed by a piston or if their supporting farmland breaks or turns to dirt, dropping usual drops.
